West Bengal Chief Secretary Rajiv Sinha has written to Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla seeking permission to run the metro rail in the state. Sinha wrote to Ajay Bhalla that please the Union Home Ministry approve running of minimum number of metro trains for movement of people connected with essential services.

On Monday, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had on Monday urged Kolkata Metro officials to resume running of trains in a ‘limited’ manner at the earliest.
