Swiss indoor tennis tournament has been canceled due to corona virus epidemic. The organizers said that it would be irresponsible and difficult to manage the tournament in the face of ongoing uncertainty about public health and economy.

Tournament chief Roger Brenwald said, “From the beginning, organizing social matches or matches at the empty stadium was not an option for us.”

Former world number one Roger Federer is the 10-time champion in the tournament and is held in his hometown Basel.

He was, however, scheduled to be out of the 50th tournament of the competition as he is recovering from two right knee operations and will not play for the rest of the 2020 season.
