FIRST TIME IN INDIAN RAILWAY HISTORY:
Passengers may get a refund on the late arrival of the train for Delhi-Lucknow Tejas Express. IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation) is Launching its first private train Lucknow-Delhi Tejas Express, in which passengers may be eligible to compensate with fares if the train will be late by more than one hour. And planning to start in October. It is running between Delhi- Lucknow.
IRCTC Tejas Express has lots of attractive features also for the passengers. In this train, passengers will have premium class facilities. This train will provide a second snack-style meal before the arrival of the terminal station as well as vending machines for free tea and coffee also. Tejas fare will be 50 percent less than airline fare and facilities are approximately the same. Indian Railway has given freedom to IRCTC to decide the ‘flexible’ ticket prices. The tentative schedule of Lucknow Junction-New Delhi-Lucknow Junction Tejas Express will leave Lucknow at 6:10 AM to reach New Delhi at 12:25 PM. Again it returns on the same day and the train will depart from New Delhi at 4:30 PM to arrive in Lucknow at 10:45 PM.
This is the first private Tejas train that will not be given a confirmed berth under the VIP quota for MPs, MLAs, State Ministers, public representatives, railway officers, and media persons. No class will get concession in fares on the train. This train will charge full fare for a child of 5-12 years. However, its fare will be half of the airplane fare and the facilities will be world-class.
