Currently, this is the rule
Currently, you can get a ration in the same district in which the ration card is made. On the other hand, if you change the district, you do not get the benefit. This gives the poor grain easily at affordable prices. One country, after the introduction of a ration card, people below the poverty line can buy ration in any corner of the country at an affordable price.
This way the beneficiaries will be identified
Under this government scheme, beneficiaries of PDS will be identified on their Aadhaar card with Electronic Point of Sale (PoS). To implement this scheme in the country, POS machines will be installed at all PDS shops. As soon as states report POS machines at all PDS shops, they will be included in the ‘one country, one ration card’ scheme.
Any citizen of India can apply
If you are a citizen of India, you can apply for this ration card. Children below 18 years will be added to the parents’ ration card.
Holders will get rice and wheat
Ration card holders will get five kg of rice at the rate of three rupees per kg and wheat at the rate of two rupees per kg. The card will be issued in two languages - local language and Hindi or English.
Link will have to be done from Aadhaar by September 30
The last date for linking ration card to Aadhaar is 30 September. In this context, the Union Food Ministry has said that ration card holders will continue to get ration despite not being connected to Aadhaar. States and Union Territories have been directed that no beneficiary should be denied the ration of his share.
