10 months after Vikram’s soft landing attempt on a Chandrayaan-2 mission with a rover (Pragyan) failed, fresh NASA images have raised hopes of ISRO again. Shanmug Subramanian, a Chennai scientist who identified Vikram’s wreck using NASA’s photographs last year, has sent an email to the Indian space agency claiming that new images sent by NASA in May indicated signs of advancing a few meters of intelligence .

ISRO chief K.K. Sivan has also confirmed this, saying that although we have not received any information from NASA about this, the person who identified Vikram’s wreckage has emailed us about it. Our experts are looking into this matter. We cannot say anything about it right now.

Shanmuga has told that from the photo of January 4, it appears that the ignorance remains intact and it has moved a few meters ahead of the lander. We need to know how the rover got activated and hope that ISRO will confirm it soon.
