Hyundai has exported ‘Make in India’ i.e. five thousand cars manufactured in India to overseas market in May 2020. The company started operations in May this month. The company started exporting in 1999, since then the company has exported 3 million cars to 88 countries.
Direct evidence of efforts for economic reforms
In a release from the company on Saturday, it has been told that it is committed to support the government’s ‘Make in India’ program and under it five thousand cars were exported in May. Hyundai Motor India Ltd MD and CEO SS Kim said that we have started to return to normalcy by exporting 5,000 units once again in May. He said that this is a direct evidence of efforts for localization and economic reforms.
Export of 10 models including Venue and Creta
The company exported 1,81,200 units in the last financial year. According to the company, with a market share of 26 per cent of the total exports of passenger cars from India in 2019, the company has made a significant contribution to the Indian automobile industry. The company currently exports 10 models including Venue and Creta.
More than four thousand inquiries
The company started production earlier this month at the Sriperumbudur plant near Chennai after a 55-day lockdown. The company has opened more than 255 dealerships and workshops so far. Since starting the operation, so far, more than four thousand people have been questioned about the vehicles. More than 500 bookings and 170 vehicles have been sold.
