Geeta Kumari, a rising athlete from Jharkhand, has been forced to sell vegetables in the streets of Ramgarh district due to financial troubles. When Chief Minister Hemant Soren came to know about Geeta, who won eight gold medals in the state level competitions, he immediately asked her for financial help.

After this, Ramgarh Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sandeep Singh gave a check of Rs 50,000 to Geeta on Monday. He also announced a monthly stipend of Rs 3,000 to further his career.
