There are 140 studies going on worldwide about the corona vaccine or vaccine, of which 11 studies have reached human trials so far. One of these is India’s indigenous covaxin. According to experts, no country can be successful in searching for the vaccine, but without India it cannot be made available worldwide, because India’s contribution on the vaccine has been considerable in the last several years. India, which provides up to 60 percent of vaccine to UNICEF, may also be able to find a new vaccine.
On Sunday, senior TV science scientist Dr. TV Venkateswaran said, “The study of the Jenner Institute of Oxford University is going on at the forefront.” The discovery is being done in association with the AstraZeneca British company.
The production company has also signed a contract with Serum Institute of India, Pune, from the British company. The Washington Health Research Institute is also studying. Indian companies have entered into several production agreements. Dr. Venkateswaran told, six Indian companies are in search of vaccine, out of which two have got permission for phase one and two of human trials.
Indian scientists contribute to most of the world’s studies
According to Dr. Randeep Guleria, director of Delhi AIIMS, he fully hopes that India will be able to make the vaccine. Indian scientists are contributing to most of the world’s studies. Serum Institute CEO Adar Poonawalla says that one billion doses of the Oxford vaccine are to be manufactured at the Serum Institute itself.
It is currently in the final stages of the British study phase 3. After this, vaccine testing work will start on a large population, for which construction work is going to start here. The test may also take place in select cities in India in the next few months. The one billion vaccine dose will be for India and surrounding countries.
